Star Citizen Alpha 3.17.2d PTU.8118455 Patch Notes

Alpha Patch 3.17.2d has been released to Evocati, and is now available to test! Patch should now show: VERSION 3.17.2-PTU.8118455.

It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER and Shader folders for the Public client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\PTU. The Shader folders can be found here %localappdata%\Star Citizen.

This release will be on US servers only

Note: This patch does not contain all of the intended features, which will be added iteratively to the notes as they become available. Additionally, some features may be implemented in a partial state and as such are not ready for testing. When those features reach a playable state they will be detailed on the notes and added to the “Testing Focus”. Please issue council all issues related to those in testing focus and in general gameplay.

Known Issues

  • Locations – Transit / Elevator – Multiple Station EZ HAB Elevators Broken
  • AI / Characters – Inventory – Looting the weapon from an unconscious AI will cause it to teleport back into their hand a short period after picking it up
  • Mission Content / UI – Mission objective marker disappears once arrived at Derelict Outpost 2
  • Missions – Bounty / Mercenary – Dying in lawful UGF missions causes player to respawn at Grim Hex
  • Bunker turrets – lawful missions – bunker turrets will shoot at a player with a lawful mission to be at the bunker
  • UGF Raid – Missions / AI / Combat AI – Some Enemy AI will not engage Security AI or Players
  • Physics / Vehicles / Actor Tech / EVA – When entering a ship’s physics grid from EVA, the player may be forcefully repelled
  • FPS Weapons – Weapon holsters or un-holsters unintentionally
  • Shopping Kiosk / Multi-Buy – When using the buy Max feature, or buying the max of an item ( 1000 ) – Further attempts to purchase from the store will result in an Inventory Error or Insufficient Stock

Core Tech

Further actor networking improvements to help with teleporting and sliding
Made many improvements to on foot AI networking to improve their movements and responses and reduce rubber-banding
Made performance improvements to help with framerate drops near UGFs

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue with the new player networking that was causing other players to appear to slide while moving
  • Fixed an issue that was causing huge framerate drops when a ship MFD is displaying the Self Status screen
  • Fixed an issue causing attacks against ships to sometimes not register
  • Kiosk search bar should now work as intended and allow players to search by keyword or specific item names
  • Fixed another issue causing invisible elevators to push and interact with players
  • Players should no longer become desynced after being downed and revived
  • Revival timer should no longer go into the negative after being knocked out
  • Fixed an issue causing various weapons to partially crop out the optics attachment selection when using the customization menu
  • Fixed an issue causing the AI Reinforcement Ship to fail to fully land at multiple derelict outposts
  • Fixed an issue causing Brushwood Variant Arms Drop rate to be extremely high
  • Remove Claimjumpers missions should now progress after player has reached mission location
  • Hijacked 890 Jump mission should no longer complete immediately once the player arrives at the hijacked 890 Jump
  • Hijacked Reclaimer mission objective for destroying the ship should no longer be blank
  • Fixed an issue that was causing knocked out AI and Corpses in spawn closets to block more AI from spawning
  • Fixed an issue causing gravlev vehicles’ to not be able to maneuver while in the air
  • Origin Jumpworks 85X landing gear should no longer get stuck in hangar floors
  • There should no longer be shield holes around the Redeemer engines which made them easily damaged
  • Fixed various shield holes with the F7C variant
  • ROC-DS should now hold its correct amount cargo at 3.5 SCU
  • Fixed an issue causing player cameras to point downwards when interacting with CBD shop screens in Lorville CBD
