Star Citizen Alpha 3.17.2c PTU.8113300 Patch Notes

Alpha Patch 3.17.2c has been released to Evocati, and is now available to test! Patch should now show: VERSION 3.17.2-PTU.8113300.

It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER and Shader folders for the Public client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\PTU. The Shader folders can be found here %localappdata%\Star Citizen.

This release will be on US servers only

Note: This patch does not contain all of the intended features, which will be added iteratively to the notes as they become available. Additionally, some features may be implemented in a partial state and as such are not ready for testing. When those features reach a playable state they will be detailed on the notes and added to the “Testing Focus”. Please issue council all issues related to those in testing focus and in general gameplay.

Testing Focus

  • This build has quite a few bits of extra logging for crashes and player network syncing to track down any other issues with the on foot client networking update. If possible, please submit any of the crash handlers you get!
  • This build also has underlying physics changes to help with hit registration during ship combat. This is highly experimental, and we’re looking for all the feedback we can get on this change.

Known Issues

  • Locations – Orison – Elevator – Orison Hab elevator occasionally not working
  • Locations / AI – Lorville Guards have blinding lights on their helmets
  • TRACKING – Actors are teleporting around after networking updates
  • Elevators / Physics – Hangar elevator’s collision grid pushes player through its path when called (Multiple Locations)
  • Combat AI – FPS NPCs rubberbanding
  • AI / Characters – Inventory – Looting the weapon from an unconscious AI will cause it to teleport back into their hand a short period after picking it up
  • Shopping / Selling – Search Bar – Search Bar does not allow players to search by keyword or specific item names ; forces players to search for general item types ; players must still manually search shop to find the desired items
  • Rest Stops ( R&R ) – Stores have no items out on shelves to buy, and their kiosks have no stock available to purchase
  • Missions – Bounty / Mercenary – Dying in lawful UGF missions causes player to respawn at Grim Hex
  • Missions – A Call to Arms – Contract is missing from Contract Manager and not able to be accepted by players
  • Missions – Remove Claimjumpers – Mission does not progress after player has reached mission location
  • Refinery Kiosk – Refinery at R&R stations ARC-L2 and ARC-L4 doesn’t allow player to refine their materials and screen is missing station specialization
  • Bunker turrets – lawful missions – bunker turrets will shoot at a player with a lawful mission to be at the bunker
  • UGF Raid – Missions / AI / Combat AI – Some Enemy AI will not engage Security AI or Players
  • Medical – Downed players may become desynced
  • FPS Weapons – Weapon holsters or un-holsters unintentionally

Mustang Alpha QoL Updates
Made changes to the cargo grid to add a new 4 SCU cargo box with animated doors. Updated the cargo boxes used by the Mustang so that they can open and hold loose cargo. Greatly increased the cargo bay health
Extended the Length and Softened the Shocks of the Origin 85x Landing Gear

Bug Fixes

  • Emptying and reloading consecutive magazines should no longer break reloading
  • Fixed an issue that could cause FPS AI to respond slowly to players
  • Player should no longer be forcefully repelled when entering from EVA
  • Fixed an issue causing excess framerate issues around derelict colonialism outposts
  • AI reinforcements should now arrive for “Retrieval Op” missions at colonialism derelict outposts
  • Fixed an issue that was causing loot containers to not spawn at colonialism derelict outposts
  • Fixed many lootcrates so they are no longer clipping through geometry at Derelict Colonial Outposts
  • Fixed an issue causing some Hurston planetary outposts and UGFs zones to be partially/fully underground
  • UGF “Destroy Stash” and “Infiltrate and Defend” missions should now properly spawn FPS AI
  • Fixed an issue causing multiple elevators / shuttles around PU and the mission area to not arrive when called
  • Mission markers showing the location of derelict reclaimers should no longer go missing
  • FPS enemy AI should now be present at the Hijacked Reclaimer mission
  • AI enemies should now spawn at Ghost Hollow Reclaimer Derelict during the Kill All mission
  • AI inside the hijacked Reclaimer should no longer walk through the geometry
  • Fixed an issue causing an excess strong fog effect in the salvage process room Hijacked Reclaimer
  • Fixed an issue causing the airlock doors to not open during the Hijacked Reclaimer Missions
  • There should no longer be invisible collision when shooting FPS weapons around corners and doorways that was blocking shots in the new Derelict Reclaimer
  • Fixed an issue causing the Highjacked Reclaimer during Breach and Steal missions to sometimes get attacked and destroyed by security ships
  • Fixed an issue causing the three main entryways to the hijacked Reclaimer to be blocked
  • Fixed an issue causing the Seize the Data Mission at Hijacked Reclaimers to not progress upon arrival at the location
  • Fixed an issue causing the Highjacked Reclaimer mission locations to not reset when a player abandons the mission
  • Players should now be able to interact with the downed satellite panel for the Clovus Darneely mission
  • Timer should no longer be missing from group warrant bounty missions
  • Fixed an issue that caused recently equipped looted armor to be unable to store loot
  • The shelves of Casaba and Platinum Bay shops at Rest Stops should now have stock
  • Live Fire Weapons shop terminals in space stations should no longer be blank
  • Items on shelf in R&R Ez Habs should no longer clip into the wall and rattle
  • The Hull-A Cargo spindle should now animate correctly
  • Scorpius HUD should no longer stretch off the screen on 16:9 monitors
  • The switch on the Hull-A for extending or retracting the cargo spindle should now show correct inner thought prompt after selling cargo
  • The front interior airlock doors of the Hammerhead should now be able to be opened by the player when undocked
  • The rear turrets on the Starfarer should no longer have their view obstructed
  • Ares Star Fighter Inferno should no longer be missing damage state SFX to accompany the alert state VFX
  • Aegis Vanguard storage locker should now close correctly
  • Fixed an issue that was causing the Login Queue notification to randomly appear during gameplay
  • Fixed multiple ReplaceME balls scattered around Derelict Colonial Outposts
  • Ships should no longer change their displayed paint once they complete ship to ship docking with the MISC Starfarer
  • The Reliant Series should no longer clip through the Starfarer when docking
