Star Citizen Alpha 3.17.0h PTU.8013344 Patch Notes

Alpha Patch 3.17.0h has been released to Evocati, and is now available to test! Patch should now show: VERSION 3.17.0-PTU.8013344.

It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER folder for the Public client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:Program FilesRoberts Space IndustriesStarCitizenPTU.

Please log out then back in on the issue council site to see the Evocati environment there. Please make sure to only select the Evocati 3.15 environment when creating IC reports while the builds are Evocati only

Note: This patch does not contain all of the intended features, which will be added iteratively to the notes as they become available. Additionally, some features may be implemented in a partial state and as such are not ready for testing. When those features reach a playable state they will be detailed on the notes and added to the “Testing Focus”. Please issue council all issues related to those in testing focus and in general gameplay.

Known Issues

  • Creating a female character results in a male body (gawd, relatable)
  • Starfarer Boom Arm not repairing if destroyed
  • There can be duplicate elevators at UGFs
  • Shubin Interstellar kiosk in New Babbage still using the old Shop UI
  • Players cannot buy components directly into ship storage (will be coming later in the PTU cycle)
  • Buying or Selling items in rapid succession causes the “Buy/Sell” buttons in the confirmation window to become inoperable
  • The ‘Sell’ page at Live Fire Weapons will not update properly
  • Players are receiving more than intended combat assist notifications
  • Players can experience severe delays and failures to equip items into the appropriate inventory slots
  • Clicking items too quickly can cause them to go missing. We suggest equipping items slower in this build and verify that each item equips before trying the next one
  • Nearby players will experience a visual stall when a player interacts with a shopping terminal, which lasts for up to several seconds
  • ASOP terminals can be accessed by other players while in-use by another player
  • ASOP terminal displays successful retrieval with designated hangar number; however, there is no ship marker and designated hangar is empty
  • Large New Babbage hangers are missing collisions
  • Cave interiors on planets with breathable atmospheres do not have an atmosphere which will cause the player to die from suffocation
  • AR Markers are present when opening the mobiGlas which can make it hard to read
  • Many mineable asteroids can’t be scanned
  • Ships can explode after players exit them
  • MFDs are difficult to interact with due to overriding Inner Thought prompts (work to resolve this is in-progress and may be resolved in some ships in this new build)

Feature Updates


Shop Sale Prices Polish Pass

  • Increased minimum and maximum sale prices when selling items to shops

Ship Weapons Polish Pass

  • Increased stagger fire threshold to include all weapons up to 750 RPM to allow the option to be stagger fired

Added a maximum distance where players will be notified with Combat Assistance Beacons, so they are no longer server-wide

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed another issue that was causing players to get an infinite loading screen when loading into the PU
  • Players should no longer load into the game invisible and flying with the planet rotating beneath them
  • The player should no longer respawn with their pre-death loadout and the medical gown equipped
  • Items should no longer be dropped on the ground when equipping items quickly
  • Fixed an issue on certain ships that caused their VTOL status to be client-side only
  • Fixed an issue that caused multiple ships to collide or not complete the docking procedure when autodocking with the Starfarer
  • Fixed an issue that allowed certain ships to dock to the Starfarer despite the fueling arm being retracted
  • Fixed an issue that was causing the snoopy cap to not show when equipping the helmet, causing some hair to clip through it
  • River water should no longer have lines and tiny unnatural ripples in it
