Star Citizen Alpha 3.17.2p PTU.8140979 Patch Notes

Alpha Patch 3.17.2p has been released to the PTU and is now available to test! Patch should now show: VERSION 3.17.2-PTU.8140979.

It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER and Shader folders for the Public client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:Program FilesRoberts Space IndustriesStarCitizenPTU. The Shader folders can be found here %localappdata%Star Citizen.

Note: This patch does not contain all of the intended features, which will be added iteratively to the notes as they become available. Additionally, some features may be implemented in a partial state and as such are not ready for testing. When those features reach a playable state they will be detailed on the notes and added to the “Testing Focus”. Please issue council all issues related to those in testing focus and in general gameplay.

Known Issues

Due to issues with elevators in many locations we suggest players avoid grimHEX, Orison, and UGFs as much as possible

  • UI / Locations / Elevators – All UGF Elevators do not respond
  • Elevators / Physics – Hangar elevator’s collision grid pushes player through its path when called (Multiple Locations)
  • Vehicles/ elevator – Elevator in 400i has delayed behavior or stops working
  • Vehicles / Meshes – The interior elevators in 890 not working
  • Anvil Carrack – Elevators are not functioning
  • Transit / Elevator – Multiple Station EZ HAB Elevators Broken
  • Rest Stops (R&R) – Hangar – ARC-LEO / HUR-L1 / HUR-L2 – Invisible collision in front of hangar door for the hangars located on the inner ring of the station
  • Stanton – Network – Actors are teleporting around after networking updates (Ongoing improvements and testing)
  • Missions / AI / Combat AI – Some Enemy AI will not engage Security AI or Players
  • Missions – Red Wind Discrete Courier – Some Delivery Boxes Cannot Be Placed to Progress Mission
  • UI – Party member markers can go missing
  • VFX – Blinding lights during planetary flight near the Snake Pit race track
  • Animation – Weapons – All weapons are held like a pistol whilst moving in EVA
  • Area18 – Centermass – Locations – Double Elevator
  • Seize the Data – Mission Feature / Law / Criminality – Destroy the Reclaimer Objective Results in CS2 for destruction of vehicle
  • UGF Raid – Missions / AI / Combat AI – Some Enemy AI will not engage Security AI or Players
  • Combat AI – UGF Missions are sometimes missing NPC spawns to complete the mission
  • FPS Weapons – Weapon holsters or un-holsters unintentionally
  • Ships – Components and interior zones remain when ships are destroyed
  • ASOP – Ships on landing pads end up in “unknown state” for location and have to be reclaimed after the ship is stored or streamed out
  • Missing Ships on SCOUNDREL PACK (and others) on PTU 3.17.2 (This is a PTU only issue that is being worked on)

  • Made further server performance and stability improvements

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue causing enemy AI NPCs to not react or be hostile to players
  • AI NPCs should no longer receive the bleed state and bleed out
  • AI should no longer become stuck in the environment and float upwards
  • Hijacked 890 Jump should no longer despawn at inappropriate moments and potentially leave the player stranded in space
  • Discreet Delivery Missions should now populate for Criminal Players
  • Player to Player service beacon reputation should now persist
  • Performing a takedown should no longer have a chance to prevent the player from moving
  • Fixed and issue that allowed players to complete the Failed Negotiations mission without solving the puzzles
  • Fixed an issue causing recovery from crash to desktop being inconsistent
