Star Citizen Alpha 3.17.0g PTU.8012110 Patch Notes

Alpha Patch 3.17.0g has been released to Evocati, and is now available to test! Patch should now show: VERSION 3.17.0-PTU.8012110.

It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER folder for the Public client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:Program FilesRoberts Space IndustriesStarCitizenPTU.

Note: This patch does not contain all of the intended features, which will be added iteratively to the notes as they become available. Additionally, some features may be implemented in a partial state and as such are not ready for testing. When those features reach a playable state they will be detailed on the notes and added to the “Testing Focus”. Please issue council all issues related to those in testing focus and in general gameplay.

Known Issues

  • After creating a character in the customizer this can cause players to spawn in with an invisible body

We have made some fixes to infinite loading and character customization that has a very small chance of fixing this issue. Please let us know if you continue to encounter this with a brand new character reset in this latest build!

  • Creating a female character results in a male body (gawd, relatable)
  • Starfarer Boom Arm not repairing if destroyed
  • There can be duplicate elevators at UGFs
  • Shubin Interstellar kiosk in New Babbage still using the old Shop UI
  • Players cannot buy components directly into ship storage (will be coming later in the PTU cycle)
  • Buying or Selling items in rapid succession causes the “Buy/Sell” buttons in the confirmation window to become inoperable
  • The ‘Sell’ page at Live Fire Weapons will not update properly
  • Players are receiving more than intended combat assist notifications
  • Players can experience severe delays and failures to equip items into the appropriate inventory slots
  • Clicking items too quickly can cause them to go missing. We suggest equipping items slower in this build and verify that each item equips before trying the next one
  • Nearby players will experience a visual stall when a player interacts with a shopping terminal, which lasts for up to several seconds
  • ASOP terminals can be accessed by other players while in-use by another player
  • ASOP terminal displays successful retrieval with designated hangar number; however, there is no ship marker and designated hangar is empty
  • Large New Babbage hangers are missing collisions
  • Cave interiors on planets with breathable atmospheres do not have an atmosphere which will cause the player to die from suffocation
  • AR Markers are present when opening the mobiGlas which can make it hard to read
  • Many mineable asteroids can’t be scanned
  • Ships can explode after players exit them
  • Multiple ships have difficulty autodocking with the Starfarer, frequently colliding or getting stuck on the boom arm in the process. In some cases, the ship cannot complete the docking procedure
  • MFDs are difficult to interact with due to overriding Inner Thought prompts (work to resolve this is in-progress and may be resolved in some ships in this new build)

Bug Fixes

  • Players should no longer get infinite load screens when loading back into PU after crashing out
  • Ships should now generate a loot crate upon destruction
  • Players’ ships should no longer drift and rotate when docked with a Starfarer
  • Refuel timer should no longer rapidly increase estimated time and break refueling at low flow rates
  • Shopping terminals should now retain the player’s last choice of destination for “Buy”, “Quick Buy”, and “Selling”
  • Fixed an issue that could cause players to suffocate after dropping a helmet they were holding
  • Weapon Customization UI on multiple weapons should no longer be partially off-screen and cannot be interacted with
  • Weapon attachments inside of containers should no longer break the scrolling function on the shopping/selling terminal confirmation screen
  • Argo MOLE’s Scanning UI info should now update correctly when the mining turret points at a fragment/rock that the pilot isn’t looking at
  • Inner Thought options should no longer be positioned too low for the female coffee vendor in Area18
  • There should no longer be trees all over the ice lake around New Babbage
  • Fines and Citation Terminal should now correctly deactivate when the player walks away
  • After delivering packages, the mission popup should no longer display ‘Objective withdrawn’ rather than objective complete
