Star Citizen Alpha Patch 3.23.0

Alpha Patch 3.23.0 has been released to EPTU, and is now available to test!   Patch should now show: VERSION 3.23.0-EPTU.9146828.

It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER folder for the Public client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\EPTU. 

Characters in this new environment will be built from LTP data so items such as medpens, ammo, rentals, and refinery jobs will be lost.

Note: This patch does not contain all of the intended features, which will be added iteratively to the notes as they become available. Additionally, some features may be implemented in a partial state and as such are not ready for testing. When those features reach a playable state they will be detailed on the notes and added to the “Testing Focus”. Please issue council all issues related to those in testing focus and in general gameplay.

Known Issues

For 3.23, Server Crash Recovery will remove all current missions and mark them as abandoned. This will not reduce reputation when this occurs. This could cause a few trespassing issues in locations like UGFs.
Distribution Center missions sometimes show the wrong location markers inside so might be difficult to know exactly where you need to go to. 
Server and Client Performance is something we are constantly monitoring and working on fixes and changes for 3.23. Currently we are seeing quite a few issues that are reducing the experience and looking into these.

  • AC – Backend / Network – Searching for a Match will always load a new instance despite other matches waiting for players
  • AC – Backend / Network – Infinite loading when two players launch from lobby
  • PU – Vehicle Purchase Kiosk – Shopping / Locations – Unable to purchase vehicles from kiosks
  • PU – UI / Mission Content – Players Cannot accept shared mission
  • PU – Stanton – Loot / UI – New Loot Menu does not appear when looting
  • PU – Stanton – Distribution Centers ( DC ) – Locations / Physics – Hangars missing collision for incoming flight traffic
  • PU – Stanton – Hurston/Crusader – Lorville/Orison – Locations / Transit – Lorville/Orison transits are off set from the station doors causing visual and collision issues
  • PU – Shopping / Art / UI / Locations – Weapon display in stores are rotated 90 degrees
  • PU – Multiple Locations – Locations / Art – GrimHEX and Kareah airlocks are missing breathable air and doors
  • Stanton – GrimHEX – Locations / Actor Feature – Player corpses will not despawn at GrimHEX
  • PU – Stanton – Locations – Grim Hex – Hospital – Elevator – Elevator is missing at Grim Hex’s hospital
  • PU – Stanton – Character – HUD / UI – No body marker after death
  • PU – Stanton – Lorville – Transit / Locations – Trams missing from Perimeter Line West

Added control of the wake width based on the bounding box of the ship. Added a strength offset for the vfx effect to trigger.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed – PU – UI / HUD / Interaction – Mouse cursor is invisible while using interaction mode, mobiGlas, and shop kiosks (STARC-93364)
  • Fixed – PU – HUD – Contracts UI – UI doesn’t update automatically, but updates once when Untracking and then tracking the contract again
  • Fixed – After server recovers the player receives a “Disconnected for being inactive for too long” message and is disconnected (STARC-105607)
  • Fixed – PU – UI – Flight HUD – Toggle-able flight HUD elements are virtually indistinguishable from ON or OFF in all manufacturer palettes (STARC-84137)

Vehicle Balance

  • Fixed an issue that caused the A2’s core health to be significantly lower than intended

Game Mode Adjustments

  • Engineering: Duel & Squadron Battle

To better allow teams to prepare for the upcoming fight:
– Increased Team Balance Pre-Game Phase from 10s to 15s
– Increased Game Start Countdown from 10s to 30s
– Movement & Interactions have been enabled in the pre-game.
– Player will no longer auto-equip their primary weapon.

Game Mode Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that caused Engineering: Duel to end prematurely.
  • Fixed an issue that caused suicide to win the game.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Match Cycling to fail.
  • Fixed an issue that caused players to lose Flight UI in the PU after playing an AC Engineering Mode

The team are also working on enabling VOIP across Arena Commander, this may be enabled mid-patch.
