This Week in Star Citizen 49/2022

Happy Monday, everyone!

Last week saw the conclusion of the 2952 Intergalactic Aerospace Expo (IAE), and what an event it was! Once again, we’d like to offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make it the biggest and best one yet. Thank you also to everyone who attended the Bar Citizen event last Saturday in Berlin, Germany. We had a wonderful time and look forward to seeing you at the next one! Is there an event happening near you soon? Find out here

For those experiencing post-IAE blues, you can take comfort in knowing that Luminalia is just around the corner and, boy, have we got some great stuff planned for this year’s holiday season! Luminalia kicks off on December 8 and we heard that the Luminalia Calendar will make a return.

We also have the Alpha 3.18 patch coming up. As it’s making further progress toward going live, we published an Alpha 3.18 Patch Watch last week to give you a taste of some of the improvements and fixes you can look forward to in this update.

Lastly, are you ready for the biggest race of the year, hosted by ATMO esports? 510 kilometers. Three outposts. One moon. Bring your fastest land vehicle and push the pedal to the metal! Sign up for the 2953 Daymar Rally before Saturday, December 10 (11:59 PM UTC).

With a flurry of activity kicking off in the next few days, it might be wise to keep your eyes trained on Spectrum for news about upcoming contests and events, and another Patch Watch post as we draw closer to the release of Alpha 3.18.

Now, let’s see what’s going on this week:

This Tuesday, the lore offering will be a short story entitled Hazy Days, where after regening, Pernell Arai tries to piece together exactly how he died.

Wednesday will have the latest Roadmap Update alongside an explanatory Roadmap Roundup. You can also learn the answers to the community’s top-voted questions in the RSI Galaxy Q&A comm-link.

Thursday marks the start of this year’s Luminalia festivities! Thursday’s episode of Inside Star Citizen is a special-edition Journey to 4.0 that continues the initiative that began at this year’s CitizenCon with a look further ahead at work being done for the Alpha 4.x branch. This week, Senior Sound Designer Matt Gabnai takes us on an auditory journey through the process of creating “sound concepts” for Pyro, including developing reverb unique to the upcoming star system.

On Friday, Star Citizen Live will be a follow-up to the Flight Experience presentation at this year’s CitizenCon, where Richard Towler and Yogi Klatt will discuss the process of creating Master Modes, the reaction from the presentation, and how it’s been progressing since. You can catch it live on Twitch at 8 am Pacific, 4 pm UTC. Also, as always, you can expect an update to the Subscriber Vault and the weekly RSI Newsletter delivered to your inbox.

Have an amazing week!
