Star Citizen Patch 3.14.0f

Alpha Patch 3.14.0f has been released to Evocati, and is now available to test! Patch should now show: VERSION 3.14.0-PTU.7618230.

It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER folder for the Public client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\PTU.

Note: This patch does not contain all of the intended features, which will be added iteratively to the notes as they become available. Additionally, some features may be implemented in a partial state and as such are not ready for testing. When those features reach a playable state they will be detailed on the notes and added to the “Testing Focus”. Please issue council all issues related to those in testing focus and in general gameplay.

Current cloud tech is still in active development and not yet final. There’s ongoing work on SDF occlusion which should help alleviate the graphical artifacting (visual dots in the clouds). Additionally, we are working towards having local VFX for the clouds (similar to the gas clouds around rest stops) which will make a big difference in overall quality.

Known Issues

  • Gas Clouds on Crusader appear to have moving graphical artifacts that appear as dots. Current clouds are still in development and not final. See note at the top of patch notes.
  • Large framerate drops in most areas of Orison
  • Orison objects & textures loading very slowly
  • Various UI markers are faded and hard to read
  • Unable to scan for FPS or ROC-sized mining deposits until very close
  • Port Olisar is missing QT marker
  • Large black cubes and bright light particles can been seen within the snow storm clouds on microTech & in the “dust” storm on Hurston
  • The AI at UGFs and Kareah will have desync issues
  • After being approved for a docking request, there is no docking UI present, making docking virtually impossible to complete
  • Unable to shoot with Hammerhead turrets, ammo displayed as 0/0
  • Missiles can hit the players ship when they are fired whilst the ship is moving forward
  • Security Ships do not recognise illegal goods onboard a ship when being carried by a player
  • Ping Scans are unable to detect FPS and Large FPS Deposits
  • Calls with players using certain seats or stations will display a grey screen
  • Players can clip through the exterior door of the 890 Jump whilst it is docked
  • Missions do not recognize players entering zone and AI are unresponsive or not visible to player during missions
  • There are uneven physics proxies at the hospital entrance which prevent players from taking trolleys, walking frames, and gurneys in and out of the hospital
  • Multiple ships can be observed having looping animations with their missile racks, impacting their ability to fire their payload. After the first fire, subsequent attempts to fire a missile can no longer work
  • The Pilots Weapons HUD will no longer be visible after entering / exiting a Turret
  • Cave FPS Missions – Mission is Withdrawn when nearing planet / cave
  • AI Ship Nameplates are missing and show as PLACEHOLDER
  • Intense fog can be seen in docking port interior at all rest stops with docking
  • The Player has no Collision when they are Manning the Mining Turret of the ROC-DS preventing damage from Weapons Fire
  • There is flashing that occurs intermittently when viewing the VMA in the MobiGlas at locations with environmental lighting

Gameplay

Ongoing Combat and Missile Operator mode balance and polish pass

  • We have done further core tuning for ships. Changed default decoupled keybind to Left Alt+C. Weakened energy cannons so that energy repeaters and energy cannons now have the same DPS with ballistic cannon damage being higher. Energy Cannons now have a higher ammo efficiency with faster regen and more ammo capacity to better fit their intended target role. Ballistic repeater / gatling damage reduced. Slightly buffed the Size 1 shield HP and regen. Increased the energy ammo count for all multirole and heavy fighters. Increased the Blade’s health. Removed 1 shield from Saber, 85x, and Razor. Updated buccaneer to bubble shield. Missile Rebalance, reduced rotation and general performance. Changed IR counter measure values, so they are now effective against IR Missiles.

Radar and Scanning polish pass

  • Updated the ship ping and blob shaders and visuals. Added scanning display hints.

Major Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue causing a server to get into a bad state and give players 30009 errors when connecting
  • Ship landing gears should no longer lose their landing springs after the gears are retracted and redeployed
  • Fixed assist should now be applied correctly in full remote turret view
  • The Indicator showing how much Quantum Fuel a vehicle has should no longer always displays as nil / zero
  • Players should no longer be sometimes unable to interact with their ship if they experience a client crash while Piloting a Ship and recover to the same instance
  • The text for the Typhoon IX Torpedo should no longer overlap itself in the MOM UI
  • Players should no longer be able to achieve a missile lock after all the missiles of the selected type have been depleted
  • The MISC Prospector should no longer have both the New and Old flight UI overlapping
  • Fixed an issue causing players to be unable to scan rocks using the multi-tool in prison
  • The Eclipse’s weapons should now correctly deploy so they no longer fire through the ship geometry
  • SkyLine Star Map should no longer cut off names of Outposts and locations if the name is too long
  • Fixed an issue causing ship weapons to sometimes not fire in Arena Commander
  • Ship point-of-view should no longer be backwards with an incomplete HUD sometimes after respawning ship in Arena Commander
  • The Carrack’s Ping audio should no longer be much louder than other Ships / Vehicles
  • The Greycat ROC-DS Mining Laser should no longer aim at the Ground at a Steep Angle when Activated rendering it useless
  • Star Marine Last Stand Loadouts should no longer be mixed up between the factions

Technical

  • Fixed 4 Client crashes
