Alpha Patch 3.14.0i has been released to the PTU environment, and is now available to test! Patch should now show: VERSION 3.14.0-PTU.7632552.

It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER folder for the Public client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:Program FilesRoberts Space IndustriesStarCitizenPTU.

Current cloud tech is still in active development and not yet final. There’s ongoing work on SDF occlusion which should help alleviate the graphical artifacting (visual dots in the clouds). Additionally, we are working towards having local VFX for the clouds (similar to the gas clouds around rest stops) which will make a big difference in overall quality.

Issue Council Update: When creating a report, players are now asked whether they would like to allow developers to contact them about their reports if it is not already enabled. This setting is purely optional to help us track down hard to reproduce issues and can be disabled at any time in the Issue Council settings menu.

Known Issues

  • Gas Clouds on Crusader appear to have moving graphical artifacts that appear as dots. Current clouds are still in development and not final. See note at the top of patch notes.
  • Orison objects & textures loading very slowly
  • XXL Hangars in Orison Dunlow Space Port are exhibiting invisible ceiling collision when ships try to disembark, even after hangar doors are fully retracted
  • Missiles do not follow flares as a countermeasure
  • Single location will only appear if the player spools their drive before setting destination on the starmap (Workaround: Spool quantum drive before opening the starmap and then open it and set route)
  • Various UI markers are faded and hard to read
  • Unable to scan for FPS or ROC-sized mining deposits until very close
  • Large black cubes and bright light particles can been seen within the snow storm clouds on microTech & in the “dust” storm on Hurston
  • Security Ships do not recognise illegal goods onboard a ship when being carried by a player
  • Players can clip through the exterior door of the 890 Jump whilst it is docked
  • The Player is unable to QT in Succession without Toggling the QT Drive off/on again
  • Landing gear proxies are missing on certain ships
  • Docked vehicles have misplaced collisions
  • Port Tressler is missing QT marker when Player returns to microTech planet

We have done further core tuning for ships. Updated more ships and turrets to exchange default ballistic loadouts with energy weapons. Slightly buff anti fighter gun range. Slightly reduced fighter carried cannon range. Streamlined S5 and up velocities and ranges. Greatly increased the Retaliator’s hull health. Upgraded Razor EX power plant.

  • Starmap will now zoom to Solar System scale each time it is opened

Ships and Vehicles

  • Updated the Constellation Phoenix Emerald color to better match the Emerald Rover

Core Tech

  • Removed the temporary location select override for entering the PU

Major Bug Fixes

  • Camera should no longer get stuck in 3rd person if the player gets out of a seat while in 3rd person
  • Snow effects should no longer be seen in the interior of New Babbage
  • Gladius Cockpit should no longer have intense amounts of glare
  • Players should now be able to sit in the chair in the Carrack’s Captain’s office
  • Fixed visarea issue blocking viewing into the interior of the Constellations through the Top hatch when opened
  • The Drake Cutlass Black headlight VFX should now function correctly when lights are turned on
  • MISC Freelancer MIS and MAX right engine should no longer be missing VFX
  • Fixed an issue causing the Glaive to land well off center during automatic landings
  • Fixed an issue causing the ping Blob to sometimes disappear if a player uses the ping feature within 5000m of a minable
  • Bartenders should no longer be missing from Orison’s Voyager Bar interior
  • Served drinks should no longer have a chance to return back to the bartender’s hand when the bartender serves drink to player
  • Klesher O2 repair Mission should no longer fail if any other player leaves or dies in prison
